  • Salary £27,000-£40,000 per year, dependent on experience
  • Plus bonus opportunities of £1200-£5000

Hours

  • Monday to Friday 8.30 am – 5.00 pm – NO WEEKENDS!

The role

Depending on your skill level and experience the role will involve:

  • Utilising your technical knowledge to carry out services, repairs and maintenance on customer vehicles, including minor and major mechanical work
  • Complete electrical and engine repair work
  • Meet and discuss the vehicle and repairs needed with the customer when necessary
  • Carry out road tests of customer vehicles after work has been carried out
  • Using advanced diagnostic equipment to fault find items relevant to the franchise brand
  • Ability to complete a Vehicle Health Checks
  • Keep work areas clean and tidy, organised and safe from hazards to health and safety
  • SLM Suzuki Tunbridge Wells is looking for someone with a strong work ethic and a passion for problem solving to join our multi-brand workshop (Suzuki, Vauxhall and Bosch Car Services) as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.

As a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic you will be working in a busy workshop environment, where you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing motor vehicles to the high standards of the Suzuki and Vauxhall brands. The ideal candidate for our Vehicle Technician position will have strong communication skills to be able to work as part of the team. Previous main dealer experience is desirable as is an MOT license, however training opportunities are available in order to progress to MOT Tester status.

The ideal skills, qualifications and experience we’re looking for:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Light vehicle Repair or equivalent.
  • Previous Vauxhall experience is desirable.
  • Ability to complete motor vehicle repairs and maintenance.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Willingness to work effectively within a team and ensure industry leading customer service.
  • Accuracy in using our online VHC Video system.
  • Strong communication skills to communicate effectively with colleagues.
  • Flexible ‘can do’ attitude.
  • Ability to use own initiative and work under minimum supervision.
